Sago Palm Tableware & Soap Dishes by POSH Graffiti

Sago Palm Tableware by Emily Readett-Bayley

Our tableware is made from a type of sago palm known locally as 'Aren' which is grown in and around villages in Bali and Java. Only the outer ring wood is used as the inside wood is a soft pith. The leaves, flowers and hairs are also used by the local people for construction and ceremonial purposes. This palm has a very distictive grain and natural shine. It can be washed in soap and water, however we recommend that it is oiled regularly with a vegetable oil to keep it in good condition.
