Palm Tableware by Emily Readett-Bayley

Our tableware is made from a type of palm known locally as 'Aren' which is grown in and around villages in Bali and Java. Only the outer ring wood is used as the inside wood is a soft pith. The leaves, flowers and hairs are also used by the local people for construction and ceremonial purposes. This palm has a very distictive grain and natural shine. It can be washed in soap and water, however we recommend that it is oiled regularly with a vegetable oil to keep it in good condition
